Eyelashes

I think I'm jealous of my own son.  He has some impressive eyelashes:
And you know I can't just do one picture, so here are a few more from today.  Happy Saturday!

Charlie - 2 months old

I got to his photo shoot a few days late, but close enough:

Our little guy is smiling now and has discovered his hands.  He's also putting on some weight - he's almost doubled his birth weight!

You can see him at 1 month old here.

Recent Happenings

1. I planted basil.  It's already started to sprout.

2. Elizabeth got me a coffee grinder.  I'm already getting tons of use out of my gift and I love it!  She also gave me some great coffee beans.

3.  E made us a delicious lasagna made with chicken sausage and plenty of cheese.  So good!  She even made us an extra to freeze for another night.
Here it is uncooked.  Ina Garten's recipe here (it's actually made with turkey sausage)

Cape Cod: Charlie & E's First Visit

We drove up to Cape Cod on Thursday night and returned to NJ last night. Charlie slept pretty much the whole 4.5 hour drive up there, but I had to give him a bottle on the last part of the drive. (We pulled over to a rest stop so I could burp him out of his car seat...if you have any travel tips for babies, do let me know) Elizabeth had never been to Cape Cod, so it was so fun to show it to her, even if it's still the off season. Kate isn't in too many pictures because she hung back at home to take care of her grandson while Paul played tour guide for us. Paul and Kate, as always, took great care of us and fed us well!!  And on to lots of pictures!

The beach in Truro.

How we love our self portraits...E is a master!

Charlie showing off his chubby cheeks.
E tried mussells for the first time and took apart her first lobster.

We all got Easter baskets.

Chatham Fish Pier after eating at The Squire.

We also had a girls day - we saw the movie Water For Elephants, which I thought was great, and did a little shopping.  Such a fabulous trip!!

Meeting Aunt E

My sister Elizabeth flew into town last night to finally meet Charlie.  They are already having fun together, can't you see?

Actually, he was upset from tummy time, but E has been super helpful today.  She came with us for his 2 month checkup (technically he is 8 weeks old today and will be 2 months old on the 24th).

Charlie handled his shots well at the Doctor today.  His 2 month stats:
12 pounds, 22 1/2 inches long, 38.5 cm head circumference
(his 1 month stats are 9 pounds 5 ounces, 21 1/4 inches, 37 cm head)

He's doing great!
