Charlie at 16 months

He is just so much fun. Saying words like teeth (loves to brush his teeth), hose, fish, boat, bee, juice (sounds more like Jew), and shoe. He will follow some simple instructions like bring mommy her shoe or put up your block or go pick out a book. He loves to smile all the time. Love him so!

Happy Father's Day

Dear Pat,
Charlie and I love you so very much.  Even when you are not feeling your best, you still make a fabulous daddy!  We think you are the best there is!

Charlie clearly loves you from your head to your toes!

And a big hug and a kiss to Grandpa and Papa for being fabulous fathers and grandfathers.  We love you too!

Grilling

I cooked zucchini for the first time ever tonight. Yum!

Zoo Play Date

Thursday morning we met my friend Michal and her two boys at the zoo.  It was a gorgeous zoo day!

Shafer fell asleep towards the end of our zoo trip and somehow Charlie didn't nap the entire day.
Fun times!

Grandpa's Here!

We are glad to have Paul in town for Pat's second to last treatment!

Paul took us out to a delicious sushi dinner last night.

The Hose

Charlie's absolute favorite thing to play with these days is the hose.  He prefers it to have water coming out, but enjoys playing with it dry too.  He will fight me kicking and screaming if I bring him inside when he is hanging with the hose.  He first noticed the hose when we used it to fill up a swimming pool a couple weeks ago, and then discovered the hose at my parent's house too.  Now he points them out at random houses when we walk the neighborhood.

He knows it is used to water the flowers (he is so smart)  ;-)

Cabrewing

E and some of her work friends go Cabrewing every summer and this year was their 5th annual.  And it was my first time to join in on the fun.  We all met up on Saturday morning and headed out to the Harpeth River. (yet again my parents watched Charlie - thanks!)
E's college friend Sara, who was in town for the first annual Cabrewing, flew in from DC for the weekend.
All the ladies: Andrea, Sarah, Me, E, Rebecca, and Deb.
We had a gorgeous day for canoeing!  It was in the mid seventies I think.

Rebecca and Matt

There was plenty of stopping to visit, and to eat/drink, so our 3 hour trip took more like 5, but it was a blast.

I hope to be there at the 6th annual next year!
