Florida Family Time

As I had mentioned before, we went to Florida's pan handle the other week.  The main purpose of our trip was to attend a party in honor of my Uncle Lawson, who passed away in February.  My Aunt Ann hosted it at her house in Ft. Walton.  The night before the party we met at Nicks seafood restaurant for a mini family reunion.

Dad, Aunt Patty, Charlie

My cousins Susan and Peter Jr.
CRABS!
My cousins Randolph and Caroline, Peter and Susan again.

Peter III and E

And here is the party Saturday, May 19th
My cousin Cameryn, Uncle Lawson's granddaughter.

Cousins Christine and Andy

Susan, Mom and Dad

Caroline and Christine

My cousins Tennyson, and Peter and his girlfriend Natalie.

Peter, Russell, Emily, E, Mark, Pat

My cousin Allison (Lawson's daughter), E, Aunt Ann, and me

Me and Zack, Lawson's grandson
My Aunt Ann showed me a lot of old pictures from when they were younger (they were married about 50 years) and also pictures from when we were kids.  We will all miss my Uncle Lawson.  Even though I didn't get to see him too often, I sure loved him a lot.  People travelled near and far to be there - friends from Dunwoody, GA, Dothan, AL and other places too (and family as far away as CA and CO).

Recent Happenings

1.  I had been looking for a little plastic kiddie pool and finally found one at the Dollar General.  We've used it a couple times...fun stuff! (Charlie is less impressed by the pool, but is wowed by the hose)
CQ having some fun with his beach toys (which I bought for our FL trip but forgot to pack)
2.  We finally had a book club meeting for Steinbeck's East of Eden.  And yes, Book club met at a bar, Melrose.  :) It was fun!  Here's Freya, Andrea, and E.  Our next book, to kick off summer, is Mick Jagger's autobiography called Life. (OOPS, I mean Keith Richards' book.  Mick was just on SNL and must have popped into my head)
3.  Pat had an infusion on Friday and I thought it would be fun to take Scrabble.  I think it was a nice surprise for Pat.  (we played when we were in the hospital for Charlie's birth)
4.  Last Saturday my parents and E took me out to Woods Amphitheatre for a Joe Walsh concert.  My Dad had been given some free tickets, and it was a lovely evening.  Here we are walking in from VIP parking.  We really enjoyed our VIP status for the night.  Ha!
5.  Charlie is still doing his fake sleeping thing ("possum") but this time he stepped up his game and added a blanket.
He cracks us up. And as you can see, he also makes a mess of our house!

PS I still owe you a full Memorial Day post and more Florida pictures.

Emily's Atlanta Wedding

My sorority sister Emily got married on Sunday at the Ritz in Buckhead, GA.  My parents happily agreed to watch the little guy overnight (thank you thank you thank you), so Pat and I drove down towards Atlanta on Sunday morning.  It was an easy drive, just under 4 hours, and I felt pretty cool checking into the Ritz.  :)  The ceremony and reception were beautiful, food was fabulous, and I'm so glad Pat felt good enough to make the trip.  I am so happy I got to see Em and Pete tie the knot.

 Scott, Rob, Pat
Lauris, Me, Kate
What beautiful gals - flower girl and bride.
 Some of the AOIIs there...
Always the best part of a Jewish wedding, in my opinion.  I had to keep Pat on the sidelines.  :)

 All the AOIIs!
Post wedding we hung out in the hotel bar (which closed since it was Sunday, so we improvised, and also played Catchphrase).  Me and Meredith
 Whitney and Patrick
At the breakfast the next morning.  Meredith, Britt, Em
We sure had a beautiful Memorial Day to drive home.
But my day didn't end there...tune in again!

So great to see our friends.  Love them!

I don't have time for a full post now, but we just got back from 6 days in Florida last night. Here's where we stayed...so nice!

Another Video

Pat has been logging some couch time (not trying to call you out Pat, we all understand!) and Charlie often goes over to terrorize his feet.  It is pretty hilarious.

Video

Charlie finds it pretty funny when he bites the spoon and won't let go.

Recent Happenings

1. The pony ride birthday party we went to the other weekend had little hats as favors.  I tried to get CQ to wear it for a minute.

2.  A few weeks ago CQ was hiding under the table cloth and making a game out of it, and here he is having fun with our dining room curtains.

3.  My friend from NY, Molly, brought lunch over last week.  She has finished her second year of law school and will be away for the summer - glad she will be back in August!

4.  I was also able to see my high school friend Daniel and his wife Sarah and meet their daughter Zora when they were in town.
We met up at the Dragon Park on Friday.

6 month old Zora was so very cute.
5.  I had written "I want Candy" on the fridge weeks ago, and Pat added to it recently.  :) Thanks hon.
